Moving Day Tips.
Your moving team look forward to meeting and working with you on moving day. They will be prepared for your move and are well trained, experienced and friendly. Our team will make your move go as smoothly as possible, however there are a few things that you can do in advance to make your move easy and stress free.
Pack early to avoid unnecessary stress. Start with the rooms you least need. It makes sense to pack the items you don’t use on a daily basis first. Seasonal items you’re currently not using such as Christmas decorations and gardening tools are perfect examples of things that can be packed early.
Declutter! Moving home is a great time to have a clear out and make way for lots of lovely new items for your bright, new home.
If you haven’t already selected our dismantling and assembly service, please dismantle any wooden or metal bedsteads and dining tables. This will ensure that these can be moved through doorways without damage.
It is beneficial to disconnect electrical appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers and televisions and have the cords safely secured.
Ensure all boxes are completely sealed and clearly labelled with the room that the contents belong to. It is advantageous to mark any boxes that are fragile.
To avoid injury to the crew or potential damage to furniture with drawers, please ensure the contents of all drawers are packed into a box and ensure all drawers are empty ready to move.
All large pictures and mirrors should either be boxed or wrapped in bubble wrap for moving. DS Carriers Ltd will also blanket wrap these for you at no additional charge.
There is no need to move boxes downstairs or into one room at the collection address. Our movers are very helpful and will remove boxes from each room and at the delivery address, if the box is marked, will place that box in its allocated room.
Pack a box of essentials – last minute items you will need on the day of your move. Place your house keys, car keys and important documents into this box and clearly label it to avoid essential items being placed in the moving vehicle by the crew.
